spring cleaning....errr...

so i was 'sposed to do some spring cleaning all weekend, but what did i do???
you got it...i stitched all weekend long. Sublime Stitching is having a contest using the Mod patterns. Just what I needed to get me going. Should be done with it in the next few days!
Man, I would really love to win that contest. First prize gets their embroidery piece posted on the Sublime Stitching website 4evers and a $100 gift certificate! Wowzas!
oh, and I learned a new stitch. Bullion...kind of a pain. but looks neat.

so there was this Railroad Revival Tour that I went to in Austin, Texas on April 26, 2011. It was amazing! Old Crow Medicine Show, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Mumford & Sons. It really was truly amazing! What an absolutely wonderful time.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros were great! I've been listening to them for about a year now. Love their fun, fun music, and their spirit of love! :-)
and there was a wonderous sunset behind the crowd that had all the bands pointing and oo'ing and ah'ing.

getting ready for my nephew Eli to get born. haha. due date may 6. :-) so much fun being an auntie! blob bib is from Sublime Stitching, and Love Bear is a free pattern from Badbird. i love teddy bears. (though i prob should retire mine...that i got when i was 10! haha)

had a great weekend!! started off going to First Friday on the Green concert in South side Fort Worth with my friends Dawn and Colleen to see Seryn. BEAUTIFUL MUSIC! and a beautiful night!! u must check them out! then did the MS Walk Saturday morning with my mom and friends, followed by breakfast/lunch/margaritas at Joe T. Garcia's! Yummm. The a bunch of family time. Was going all weekend! Had a great bubble party in my dad's backyard with my niece and nephew! LOVE BUBBLES!! get the bubble swords from Wal-mart, really cool. :-)

no more sleep stitching

know when to stop! i almost ruined the project i'm working on last night.well, not really ruined. but could have gone horribly wrong. i really needed to be sleeping and not stitching. but i think i made it work. gah! lol.

did another swap on swap-bot. this time a day of the dead embroidery swap. hosted by snifferooski, who i got and sent this embroidery to. funny thing is she used the same pattern for her partner, but we both changed them up a bit, so that was cool. kinda crappy pic here but the only one i got. darn it, my camera is broken. maybe i'll get one for myself for christmas, hit up the sales. actually, sure i can get mine fixed. we'll see. anyway, i haven't received my piece yet for the swap. can't wait to get it. hopefully it's not a month late like the last time. but things happen, i know. oh, and it's a pattern by carina. http://www.etsy.com/shop/polkaandbloom

oh, finished a piece for my grandma. she wanted me to make it for her to give her secret santa. it's like one i made for my mom when i first started doing embroidery. here it is. a banner from sublime stitching with the julie west patterns, tattoo letters, and even the flower is from the lisa petrucci patterns with a little heart added. haha. sublime stitching all the way! :-)

starting on a piece for my friend kat. it'll be a kinda buddha theme. :-)

not quite done...

but i finally finished the hardest part, the face. more specifically the mouth. took several tries. i remembered a pinup face tutorial on the Sublime Stitching Blog, and that helped a lot! simple but so hard to get right. i'm happy with the way it turned out.
:-) just finishing up the border. should be done tomorrow! i stopped working on it for a bit, but now i'm eager to finish!

this is what i'm working on now. a sweet horse and cowgirl pattern from Sew Lovely Embroidery. this is gonna be for my aunt nancy for christmas. oh, and i got the cute little pink w/polka dot embroidery tool case from sublime stitching. it's too cute!

this took awhile. i quit for awhile, when i got to the heart and face. and i really don't like to do that. i hate quitting on something i start. so i finally finished it. love the way it turned out. the face seemed to take just as long as the rest of it!
